Privacy Policy

Humley Limited ("Humley") recognises that you and other users of the services we and the licencees of our software provide want to understand about our approach to privacy and how their data is handled. For the purposes of this Privacy Policy the “Humley Software” is a combination of any software that is installed on your mobile device and the software that your device talks to (in the cloud in case you wondered) in order for us to keep the information on your device up-to-date as part of providing Humley Services. We package up that software in different ways to provide different experiences and combinations of functionality depending on what you’re going to use the service for. A “Humley Service” is the way in which one of those packagings of the Humley Software operates so that you can actually use and (hopefully) enjoy it.
Basically, as well as using it ourselves to our own services (and occasionally getting people to help us run them), we licence specific Humley Services to other people and they build that functionality into their own applications or services to enhance the experience. Where other people are running their own apps and/or services but including a Humley Service in them, these are Licenced Third Party Services.
Humley provides this Privacy Policy to help you make an informed decision about whether to use or continue using a Humley Service (including any Licenced Third Party Service).
If you do not agree to our practices, please do not use any Humley Service.
Your use of any Humley Service and any personal information you provide on the Humley Service remains subject to the terms of this Privacy Policy and the overarching Terms of Service for the Humley Service you are using. Please note that those overarching Terms of Service may be provided by someone other than Humley especially for Licenced Third Party Services.

What Does This Privacy Policy Cover?

This Privacy Policy is part of Humley’s Terms of Service and covers the treatment of user information, including personally identifying information, obtained by Humley, including information obtained when you access or use the Humley Service or any other software provided by Humley.
This Privacy Policy does not apply to the practices of companies that Humley does not own or control, or to individuals whom Humley does not employ or manage, including any of the third parties to which Humley provides access to the Humley Software to allow them to use that software as part of their own applications or services.

The Information Humley Collects

Humley Services are designed to let you get the most out of either your mobile device or services you can access and use through your device. The information we collect is needed to deliver those experiences to you in the best possible way. We’re really aware that experiences can be disappointing if done badly so we use the information we collect to try and avoid that as far as we can. A lot of the information we collect is used to tailor what gets shown to you so our hope is it is relevant to you at the time and place you see it.

As you can imagine, it’s a real balancing act between not collecting too much information and getting the experience as good as we can. We try to manage the balance in a number of ways including letting your mobile device make as many decisions as practically possible about what you see – and not asking it to tell us later – and only keeping information that we or someone running a Licenced Third Party Service really needs to provide you with the best possible user experience.

To do this, Humley may obtain the following types of information from or concerning you or your mobile phone device, which may include information that can be used to identify you as specified below (“Personally Identifying Information”): User Provided Information: You may have provided certain Personally Identifiable Information, such as your mobile phone number, push notification name (if applicable), billing information (if applicable) and mobile device information to Humley when choosing to participate in various uses of a Humley Service, such as registering as a user. Not all Humley Services require registering so don’t worry if you’ve not been asked to. Some services have added functions where we do need you to register or may relate to another service or login that you need to use to access functions or open up the app that contains that Humley Service.

Log File Information: Our servers automatically record certain information that your mobile device sends whenever any application on your mobile device that includes a Humley Service calls home to the rest of the Humley Software in the cloud.

These server logs may include information such as your mobile device requesting updated content from the Humley Software, its Internet Protocol ("IP") address, phone number, phone hardware identifier (such as its IMEI), phone type and basic associated information (including for example which mobile carrier its attached to and in which country or if it is on wifi, its operating system version and related hardware information) browser type, browser language, referring / exit URLs, platform type, number of clicks on specific messages and any associated actions that those messages created, apps downloaded or opened, where the Humley Service has redirected you elsewhere the related domain names, landing pages, items viewed, their order, the amount of time spent on them, the date and time of your device’s update request and various status information. When you use the Humley Service, our servers log certain general information that our application sends relating to its status and other information that may impact who the Humley Service or the element of the Humley Software that is on your mobile device is working.

The Information Humley Does Not Collect
